Coming full circle:
Nothing could have completed my (first) stay in Madrid quite like this. I returned to the rose garden in el Retiro on my way to collect my baggage, and was delighted to see that there were actually roses this time! My theory that the place would be absolutely stunning once spring came around was confirmed.
